Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and NAD+ for Fertility

Deciding to have kids is an exciting, life-changing decision. But if you find yourself facing infertility this can be a challenge.  The encouraging news is that there are many treatments available to help. Recent research continues to emerge showing that hyperbaric oxygen therapy and NAD+ IV therapy may provide a holistic approach to addressing infertility concerns by promoting health at the cellular level.

But before we dive into the research, let’s get an idea of just how common infertility is:

Understanding Infertility

Infertility, which is characterized by the inability to conceive after one year of trying, can affect both women and men. On average, over 15 percent of couples will face infertility, with roughly one-third of these cases being attributed to male infertility, one-third due to female infertility, and one-third caused by both individuals or due to unknown factors.

Healthy ovulation and oocytes, embryo implantation, and sufficient spermatozoa are all important factors in fertilization and embryo development.

How Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy May Help

Breathing increased levels of oxygen helps oxygenate your blood and transport oxygen to areas within your body that need support. Oxygenated blood promotes healing, helps fight bacteria, and stimulates the release of stem cells and growth factors.

In order for pregnancy to occur and progress, the embryo needs to be implanted within the endometrium:

Note that hyperbaric oxygen therapy may also aid in the fertility of men as well:

What to Expect from Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

At ReIVeDoc, we maximize your comfort. During your hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment, you watch TV or simply rest. The treatment is performed within a pressurized hyperbaric chamber room containing nearly 100% oxygen. Seven to ten treatments are typically recommended and the duration of treatment can vary from one to several hours.

NAD+ IV Therapy

Female fertility is impacted by the quality and health of the ovarian cells, known as oocytes. After the age of 35, oocyte quality can drastically decrease with age. However, NAD+ supplementation may be able to address this concern:

  • NAD+ has shown the potential to improve the quality of oocyte cells, which may, in turn, promote fertility.
  • NAD+ was also shown to increase the number of live births according to a 2020 animal study.

What to Expect from NAD+ IV Therapy

NAD+ IV therapy delivers an intravenous solution of medical-grade NAD+ and sterile saline directly to your bloodstream. Unlike NAD+ pills, NAD+ IV therapy bypasses the digestive system for more direct absorption. Frequency of treatments can vary, but typically multiple treatment sessions are recommended. The duration of treatment time may range from 2 to 3 hours or longer depending on your ability to tolerate treatment.

Adding CoQ10 Injections for Additional Support

In addition to hyperbaric oxygen therapy and NAD+ IV therapy, CoQ10 injections can restore CoQ10 levels and provide additional support to those who are struggling with infertility:

  • Sperm motility, which is an important parameter for assessing male fertility, was found to increase in infertile men that supplemented with CoQ10

Your Customized Treatment Plan

Most individuals will require multiple hyperbaric oxygen therapy and NAD+ IV treatment sessions. Both your age and unique health status should be carefully considered by your medical provider. To determine the best course of treatment, and recommended frequency of sessions, consult with a board-certified physician for your customized treatment plan.

Each treatment session can vary in duration, but you should expect to set aside a few hours for treatment. For your convenience, we fully equip our state-of-the-art clinic with all the comforts of home and office during your treatment session.
